The Delta Force and Army outfits seem to not get enough credit. They are wisely humble and quiet about their amazing expertise. They are our brothers and amazing. In the military EVERY person fulfills a specific role. It's not a matter of determining who is the best. ALL who do their part are the best (USMC 1981-88). I will say though, Delta recruits the best of the best from each branch to create the greatest most lethal fighting force on the planet. Whereas the SEALs only take from the Navy.

When you are talking this level of elite operators you are basically splitting hairs. I think one thing that is often over looked is Delta's diversity. Have more dudes from more backgrounds and experiences allows them different trains of thought to solve a problem.

One of the lesser well known interviews but definitely one of the best and most enjoyable to listen to. This guy is a real warrior. Nothing but respect to him and for having the courage to talk about difficult things in public. What a legend.

No SAS no Delta force

One of the most important things about the Russian Air Force is this. Since ww2 they view it as a flying artillery. That's one of the reasons why they still depend on ground control radar. It's not some secret. We have 2024 yet Russia didn't fight and hold air supremacy over the sky of Ukraine. They have doctrine wise not learn as the western air force do to accomplish that. That's one of the reasons why fighter's like MIG 29 OR SU 27 are dropping bombs instead of fighting air to air.

Do you know why Josh was as good as he was? It was his internal strength and resilience. The military didn't make him that way. THAT IS WHO HE WAS. I also come from Oklahoma. I know *exactly* where Josh lived and am familiar with the area he grew up in. He and I were born not too far apart in months. The time we grew up in, the circumstances he faced as a young man, and his family situation made him grow up quickly. He didn't have much of a proper childhood per se, but he WAS happy that he could take care of his family and provide. He would've told you he wasn't the smartest, but he would work the HARDEST. If you knew Josh even for a little bit, you know he was a family man, loved his family, and loved what he was doing in the military. You'd have to run him so hard his heart would explode before he'd ever think about slowing down. That drive, that hunger, that comes from a place few men will ever know and fewer still use it to drive them to a level of excellence so high it stands out in a group of people that are ALL known to be outstanding warriors. It is what drove him to always be moving, and never be satisfied with the "status quo"; he'd say, "Good enough, isn't..". You've heard these people and more speak of Josh if you are truly interested in his life and service record. NOBODY, not one person I am aware of (and I have met a few myself) had ANYTHING but praise for the man. His character, humility, intensity, and leadership are why his teammates always loved and trusted him. It's also why when he did get killed that they were so profoundly hurt, because he's the kind of person you're lucky to meet once in a lifetime. Saying that even though he was in the unit, is saying something, because to a man those operators are all fucking awesome. I flew Josh (and of course Delta operators) around a few times in the 160th. That was my job. Help these guys get in and get out safely, anywhere, +/- 30 seconds. That is our promise, that is our commitment to our "customers" I didn't "know" him personally, but his reputation was known to all, and his big ass grin and his unique, intense presence were some of the first things you would see when you spoke to him. Even though I outranked him, he had the leadership and experience that made everyone myself included) just shut up and try to learn from the man when he spoke. He had the type of personality that just drew people to him, and he DEMANDED excellence in everything that was done. If you dared provide less than your best, he would call you on it. He pointed out things in our briefings at times that was not common at his level. My aircrews and peers were impressed by his intellect, reasoning, and ability to see the big picture quickly and use this to always keep the focus on the safety of his team while still providing the best possible position for the air and ground units to be in to accomplish the mission. I wish I could've known him personally. Sorry for my blabbering, but I just felt compelled to share my brief contacts with him and how he made such an impression in those moments. He didn't need a long time with somoeone to enable him to convey competence, true caring, and just a moral bedrock that informed and reflected in his decisions and even just the way he presented himself. At the level Josh was at, there are still AWESOME guys, and I know *I* sleep better, truly, seeing these men at their best providing the security for the United States and her allies. RIP Josh, you are sorely missed but your example lives on. The love you gave to your team, the unit, and this country, will never be forgotten. NSDQ!!

It is one thing to pick targets thousands of miles away from an air conditioned room, while you are relaxing in a leather swivel chair, quite another if you have to risk Seattle, San Francisco, San Diego or San Antonio turning into an ashtray.

It is so hillarious to pick up who's the best due of they, Team 6 / Devgru and Delta Force are all have the same task i.e direct action, hostage rescue and short term reconnaisance mission. When he said about some infantry things ...whoa come on man, how can you dont know about the role of SEALs. Navy SEALs do have all of the necessary skills on sea, air and land. Each of Navy SEAL units have already mastered: 1. Under Water demolition mission 2. Hostage rescue mission on Ship, Oil rig and floating vehicles. 3. CQB on Ship, Oil rig and floating vehicle, they do train CQB on Bus, building and plane. (Team 6 / Devgru have an advance intensive CQB training on ground object) 4. Mines clearing on sea, shores and of course on land. 5. Hidro oceanografy and beach surveilance mission 6. Shore and river reconnaisance mission. SEALs sniper have the skills to shoot target from floating boat. In the combat ground mission, Navy SEALs counterpart is Special Force, in term of the skills on reconnaisance, direct action and hostage rescue mission. *Special force have their own separate amphibious team, so does the Delta force* Delta force counterpart is definitely not Devgru due of Delta Force is not branch of Green Berets. But due of both Devgru and Delta are tier 1, people sometimes make a comparetive issue betwen Devgru to Delta. SEAL team 6/ Devgu is a part of Navy SEALs. Devgru is SEALs team whom gets more intensive training on CQB, hostage rescue and Direct Action on short term mission only on ground environtment, such as Plane, bus, train and building, but on occasional times SEAL team 6/ Devgru do exercise on water environment in order to keep their sea "habitual" instinct. Once there is any contigency high target mission on land,president would chose betwen Devgru and Delta to settle the matters. In the sea, it is absolutely president would chose Navy SEAL. Sometimes team 6 gets involved on several SEALs mission on land and sea. Delta is not a part of Green Berets, how can we made assumption all of delta member are comparable to Devgru ! I think delta member who came from SF are have equal skills to Devgru, particularly skills on land. Note : SEAL role is not combat infantry, SEAL move on covert and shadow on small unit. *Long range patrol definitely is not the role of SEAL, how can you don't know about that simple thing* Many delta boys came from paratrooper, 75th Ranger regiment and ranger, so most of their combat style is manuveur on crossfire like infantry troop. There are rumours most of SF men do not have much intention to be Delta boys due of SF already have all of this skills, but most men from another unit have so much intention to became delta boys.

The Sheriff obviously isn’t wrong…BUT, he refers to SEALs - and doesn’t mention DEVGRU…so if Shrek wants to talk DEVGRU capabilities & limitations he needs to be more specific in his critique.

I think he may be a little confused in saying the SAS were domestic oriented and have only become more combat oriented post-1980 ... that's just factually incorrect. The SAS was founded in 1941, but the Counter Terrorism Wing (CTW) that they are known for with the Operation Nimrod wasn't formed until the 1970's after the Munich Olympics in 1972. The SAS are universally credited with being the basis and standard that Special Forces around the world are built upon. So I have no idea how someone who was Delta didn't know that, or for some weird reason is trying to downplay the SAS, it's weird. The SAS have a SUB-UNIT that is domestic counter terrorism orientated, the Counter Terrorism Wing (CTW), and the squadron in charge of that rotates every 12 months if I remember correctly. So if A Squadron are on CTW, then B, D and G Squadron (I think that's the others) are on "Regular" SF duties, long range recon etc.

There was a secret war going on between USSr and the US, and that was the ones engaging in the dogfight were actually US and USSR pilots (not North Koreans). And American propaganda deceived us when we were kids. The MIG 15 was far a superior aircraft than the Sabres. I was a victim of the US shit propaganda. so naive and young that time. Based from the interviews after 75 years, The USSR got the edge when it comes to their jet aircraft. One its faster than the F86, so it choose its fight plan, and the other one well an American pilot did concur that as a big factor. Based from simple logic the sabre was equip with 50 caliber guns. To destroy an enemy you need to hit the target several rounds. The MIG iwas armed with a 30mm gun, its nearly a one shot one kill or then go for a kill .
